I don't like New Year's resolutions.

I think that they set you up for failure, and I'm not a fan of encouraging failure. Resolutions are generally sweeping, dramatic changes made on a day when there's a social expectation to get your act together one way or another, and that's not a recipe for success. That's a recipe to marathon clean, and we all know that's not sustainable in the long term.

So let's not make resolutions. Let's change habits. Habits take a while to change, so this is not a "do it for a few weeks and then stop because what a pain in the ass, right?" kind of thing. This is about trying to make tiny, incremental, easy changes, and to motivate ourselves to keep up with those changes past January, into the spring and summer and then have them be so ingrained that we can't remember ever having done differently.

If you're determined to have a New Year's resolution, keep it reasonable. Start slow. One or two 20/10s a day. (Not sure what that is? Check out the welcome packet.) Follow the prompts to make your bed, unfuck tomorrow morning, and go to sleep. Don't expect that by January 5th, your house will be immaculate and all of your problems will be solved. Be realistic. Know what's sustainable for you. Know that it'll take time. And know that you are not beyond help.

Sometimes the internet feels a lot like middle school

I don’t understand how people can consider it an “escape”. 

I know I’ll get a shitload of hate for this lol. But people irl can be much easier to deal with than people online. Because online they are so fast to judge and bully eachother. 

Social networks are fucking stressing to me. having to be carefull about what I say constantly, knowing that thousands of people can read what you say.

 I actually have to worry much more about having a good image online than I do irl, god forbid I dislike something, or complain about something you think is stupid. 

It’s so easy to rub people the wrong way. And on the internet they pretty much have green light to just go ahead and say everything they want to you, because they wont suffer consequences for it. 

And well, I won’t be a hypocrit and say I don’t understand how that is, because I sometimes fly off the handle at people too. I’m actually really hot headed and impatient. (Although I try my damned hardest not to act on it)

 But most of the times I regret it like 3 minutes after. 6_6” ( wich is the time that takes me to calm down ) And feel really bad for saying some pretty hurtfull things without realizing it.

I would never go out of my way to bully someone for their opinion though. And it really hurts me to see someone being attacked by dozens of people and spammed with hate for something they said. Sometimes even death threats. 

That time that artist made a redraw of some Nami from one piece picture comes to mind. 

I know it seemed…….really full of herself to do that. But I honestly think people should have just ignored it 6__9. She literally had thousands of people make fun of her for it. And I can’t even imagine how hurtfull and stressfull that could have been to her. 

Please try to put yourself in other peoples shoes more often. 

Try not to get involved in other people’s arguments either. Don’t throw more wood at the fire as they say here 6w6””’. Because what usually happens with arguments online is that they snowball. And before you know it everyone is fucking fighting over something retarded. 

Don’t contribute to hate. Just let arguments die. Its really….not that hard.
